Better cameras are digital cameras?

Feb 24th, 2010

The cameras are still scarce. Although digital cameras have a long way since they came for the first time, there are still photographers who prefer to use old film camera. Some of them use film exclusively while others prefer film for certain scenarios.

There is no simple answer to the question which camera is better, digital or film. In some scenarios film is better than digital and in other scenarios digital is better than film. TheyBoth have their advantages and disadvantages and the true answer to this is better is simply a list of differences. Here are a few:

The sensor: In film cameras a light sensitive film behind the lens. To take a picture the shutter opens for a certain period and the light hits the film "printing" an image on film. After a photo is taken of the film is rolled up and a new movie is behind the goal. Digital cameras, an electronic sensor (known as CCD)behind the goal. CCD is composed of many tiny light-sensitive sensors, one for each pixel. To take a picture the shutter opens for a certain period of time and light hits the sensor. Each pixel has its value and collect all the pixel is an image. The image is stored on digital media and the CCD is electronically emptied.

The main difference between a CCD sensor and a film is the depth of field. Since digital sensors are smaller than 35 mmdepth of field is much larger, in fact, in most compact digital cameras are almost endless.

Instant feedback: One of the most important features of digital cameras is instant feedback. Digital cameras include a small LCD screen. After a photo is shot can be displayed on the screen. If the picture is not good that you have a second can take. The ability to see how the photographs help you make an informed decision on how to solve the problem, or how to write better. It takes a lot of raaiwerkphotography.

Photo capacity: Digital cameras today can hold hundreds and even thousands of digital photos on a single disc. Extra storage pocket with digital cameras have virtually infinite capacity. On the other hand, the ability of film cameras is very limited. The standard is a roll of 36 photographs, there are only 36 images can take. After such a role, which is used to switch to a new leader takes time and is not easy to do in a scenario like the darkness or a harshenvironment. Rolls roles in the film, is not small and the realization equivalent to thousands of images is impractical.

Field of view: digital cameras let you take photos without your eye glued to the viewfinder. Combined with almost no cost to take pictures and a high capacity, this means new opportunities for a new angle of firing.

Cost pictures: Pictures taken with a digital camera really cost nothing. They are stored in memory can be erased and thenYou are welcome to be discarded. The images you choose to keep can be copied to digital media like a hard drive of your computer. With a low cost of the cost of digital storage to store the image is almost zero. Film costs money. One of the major film costs money and can not be used again. Each time the shutter button is pressed, the money is spent, if you later decide to remove it.

Imaging cameras digital photos are basically computer files andcan be manipulated by software. This software is known as image processing software, and you can get a real picture and the creation of special effects. Some photo processing is built-in cameras. With film, on the other hand, is very difficult to make corrections. If the corrections are of fundamental importance, is the easiest way to do this is to scan the negative or the printed photo (ie converted to digital) and transformed into a computer as if it were a digital cameraFantastic.

Adapting to different conditions: film reels are designed for specific scenarios There are indoor and outdoor films or films with different sensitivity to light. Where the conditions for a camera would have changed a photographer to shoot with the wrong film, change the role (and snapshots of rest), or use a camera with a different role in it. Images taken with the reels of film may lead to wrong wrong colors (red photos for example), a photo of poor qualityand much more.
With digital cameras on other characteristics of the sensor can be set electronically. With a simple click of a button, the camera can switch to indoors or outdoors, low light, night photography and son.
